Program Elements
Documentary Screening
- An in-class documentary on the chosen heritage site.
- Significant time, effort and investment has gone into creating these documentaries - they are authentic, engaging and visually stimulating
- The content has been validated by historians, published authors, subject matter experts and professional organisations
Class-room interaction
- The documentary screening is interspersed with activities to stimulate discussion, reflection and appreication
- Activities such as a Q&A, Quiz or Moderated Discussion are conducted
- Additional engaging activities can be conducted such as jigsaw puzzle making, painting, cartooning and conservation business plan design
Reading material
- A concise reading packet is provided to each student to prepare for the program
- In addition, a bibliography for additional reference reading is provided for students to further enhance their knowledge on the topics covered in the program
On-site Visit - Guided Walking Tour
- A professionally guided walking tour of the heritage monument is provided
- Various aspects of the monument showcased in the Documentary is brought to life for the students
On-site visit - Treasure Hunt
- A treasure hunt can be conducted at the monument for students
- Students are grouped into teams and the hunt is conducted as a team activity
- Safety is top priority for My IndiEye, hence, the objective for the hunt is not to complete it the fastest, but to complete it most accurately
- Treasure hunt is designed keeping in mind the difficulty level which can be handled by students
On-site visit - Audio-Visual Tour
- Students can be given an audio-visual device on which they can take an audio-visual tour of the monument
- The device contains navigation, content and customisation features as per the subject matter interests of the student
Post visit Activities
- Post-visit activities can be conducted with professional counselors which includes a debrief of the tour, reflections, observations and a discussion
- Students can prepare a poster/ chart presentation on their learnings and take-aways from the visit. These creations can be posted as permanent displays for Parent-Teacher meets or on Showcase Walls of the school
DVDs & Merchandise
- A range of merchandise such as Documentary DVDs, Puzzles, Postcards and Souvenirs are available for the school to purchase for the school library
- In case students have permission from their parents and the school not objecting, they can also purchase the merchandise
